712 Engineering 2 - Fabrication and Manufacturing

Level: Level 1

Grades: 10, 11, 12 - Full Year - 5 Credits

If you ever had an idea for a product, and wanted to make it, this could be the class you need. We will explore the possiblities around desktop or personal fabrication. You will gain experience with a combination of artistic, creative, engineering and fabrication processes. We will work with CAD, computer programming, computer controlled tools and electric circuit design to make original designs that solve authentic problems. We will work with computer controlled tools, hand tools and traditional wood and metal tools with an emphasis on repeatablity and mass production. With this knowledge and experience, you can create things with physical, electronic and programming capabilities that you could only imagine before. If you would like to make real, functional, versions of your dreams, this could be your class.

Prerequisite: Two semesters of DHS Technology classes or Course 710 Standards Based Technology and Engineering
